SEN TV Studio Melbourne
Obliik delivered the refurbishment of the Melbourne TV studio for Sports Entertainment Network at 111 Coventry Street, Southbank, completed in mid 2025. The project involved the upgrade of an existing spillover space to support live broadcast operations, audience participation, and associated production functions.
Engaged as Principal Design Consultant, Obliik led the architectural design and consultant coordination for a highly technical environment, with particular focus on mechanical and heat load management, broadcast lighting, and power and data infrastructure. Integration with the existing building structure presented additional challenges, requiring careful coordination around structural columns, beams, and constrained floor zones to achieve functional and compliant outcomes.
The studio was designed to accommodate up to 80 audience members and includes a raised floor set with LED screen backdrop, green room and makeup facilities for talent, and a dedicated operations room with direct studio access. Delivered under a fast-tracked programme and a tightly controlled budget, the project required continual design refinement to balance technical performance, cost, and programme certainty. The completed studio provides SEN with a robust, high performance broadcast environment tailored to live production demands.
